The barricades should be taken away shortly from the Fitzroy Street and Canterbury Road junction. After 5 odd years the last of the 'pointing', filling the gaps in the rock wall, will be completed this week and traffic will be finally relieved of these obstructions.
Job well done by the contractors too, I.G. Parker, once they got into the work it came together very quickly and congratulations to our Ward Councillor, Serge Thomann for urging the completion on.
Now the Metropol Precinct needs a new landscaping treatment and removal of all the temporary security fencing so the traders can celebrate some type of return to normality. Replacing the faded banners would go a long way to brightening up the corner Precinct.
