LEAVE YOUR HAT ON - the Joe Cocker tribute

Leave Your Hat On presents 33 1/3 seminal Joe Cocker classics as performed by a 12 piece show band featuring acclaimed guitarist and showman BOB SPENCER, Musical Director and champion keyboardist ANDY BURNS, a blazing horn section and backing vocals by the fabulous DELTA LADIES. Unmissable!

When producer Craig Wilkins heard of Cockerąs passing on December 22nd he cracked a beer and cranked Mad Dogs and Englishmen at top volume for a full 24 hours before formulating a plan to pull the cream of Melbourne musos together to pay tribute to his high school idol. The band began rehearing on 7 January and are now ready to bring their powerhouse production to the Thornbury Theatre on Friday May 1!

Playing all the hits over 3 sets plus encores and covering all the iconic Cocker songs and more everything from Whiter Shade Of Pale and Feelin Alright to Come Together, Unchain My Heart and all points in between.˛
    http://thornburytheatre.oztix.com.au/?Event=51730

Online bookings through the theatre.- I have heard on the grapevine during this lead up week though that there may also now be some Lastix at reduced prices - for those really watching their budget)

    The Dukes of Despair
    From David Johnston

As you’ve no doubt noticed, the Dukes haven't been around as much this year. By and large we're not chasing gigs, just letting the good ones fall in our laps as they come along. And always rehearsing and coming up with new original toons!
So here’s a good gig, and a good chance to hear what’s new, and it’s coming up in a little under two weeks.
    We’re back at-

The Yarra Valley Grand Hotel in Yarra Glen Sunday 3rd May from 3 till 6pm. The great thing about the Grand is that we get to play outside on the big stage rain, hail or shine because of the gas-heated marquee that keeps everyone warm in the cooler months. So the Grand is one of the best all-year-round gigs in Victoria! Great bar and sensational meals too. And very child-friendly.
    Hope to see you.

    The Crimson Goat

    From Jack Levi

There has been significant demand to have The Crimson Goat Cabaret Club back so we are going with one big show in 2015 and that will be on Sunday night May 31. And with just one show after such a long break we are expecting a massive crowd.

On the bill will be the usual top variety of acts...
Darren Carr "Multi award winning ventriloquist"
One Trick Pony "Daring and surreal"
Mayumi Nobetsu "The orient expression of comedy delight."
The Birdmann "Fantastic moments from the vanguard of vaudeville"
Randy "Everybody's favourite felt faced raconteur"

As Elliot Goblet I will MC the night and with this new role for me at The Goat.
I will have a few new tricks.

Venue is again the glorious Ormond Hall.
In the main room tickets are $42 (or $38 per head for groups of 8 or more).
    Balcony seats are $32.
Doors open at 6pm for a 7pm sharp show.
    Drinks and snacks available.

    To book go to www.villagemelbourne.com.au/whats-on

For this show you will be able to select a table and please note that the table numbers start with 1 at the front and the higher the table number the further back it is.
On another note, for those who haven't heard about it through the Facebook Juggernaut, my new Elliot Goblet comedy album "goblet's greatest bits" is out now in the stores.
I am giving a portion of the proceeds to 2 great causes that I have hugely supported in the past - the Father Bob Maguire Foundation and Les Twentyman's "20th Man Fund"
On line purchases from iTunes and the big stores (JB Hi Fi and Sanity) are possible on the "New CD" Page of my website www.elliotgoblet.com.au and there you can hear a sample of my funny bits.
Or for something totally different a clip of one of my 2 songs is viewable right here:

Anyway I hope to see you on May 31 at The Crimson Goat Cabaret Club...a mediocrity free zone.
    Regards and cheers
    Jack Levi
