Listen To Older Voices presents the stories, views and opinions of our older citizens. It is predominantly in a life & times format, with interviewees reflecting upon their lives from earliest memories. An underlying principal of the program is to promote the concept of positive ageing, reinforcing the principle that older people have & continue to make a valuable contribution to both their local & wider community.
This is the penultimate program on the Life & Times of Bob Bright. Bob who was arguably one of Australia’s premier popular singers, a man who with his partner Laurie Allen ruled the air waves in the 1960’s in a career that literally exploded into massive success.
In this program he continues to share his memories of those halcyon days and in doing so, shares stories not shared previously. One hit after another pours forth, but time and changes of what audiences want to hear catch up, and, Bob and Laurie both need to spread their "wings' and seek new paths and so they dissolve the partnership. However they remaining close friends, despite the fact that the popular press of the day was reporting quite the opposite. Bob sets the record straight on all this and the stories continue to pour forth as he takes his story right up to Laurie’s untimely death
