Sunday 8th May
The Crackerjack Club
Melbourne Bowling Club
138 union Street, Windsor
3pm - 6pm
From Brian Cadd
As you all know, Melbourne can ALWAYS do with another great gig!
I have known many wonderful singer/players in my life. Three of the great Australian ones are SAM SEE, GLYN MASON and LINDSAY FIELDS.
They perform together as a trio around Melbourne on occasion and their shows are always rocking, sold out and stunning to watch.
The oldest bowling club in Australia is the Melbourne Bowling Club in Prahran. It's a wonderful old landmark and worth a visit at any time. But just this once, on May 8th...Sam, Glyn and Lindsay are doing a special show there. Itąs a chance to maybe begin a new classic performance venue in an amazing part of Melbourne.
Please support the Boys and MBC. You could help start something great!

Mikelangelo and The Black Sea Gentlemen
Thornbury Theatre
859 High Street, Thornbury
Friday May 6th and Saturday May 7th
The launch of Mikelangelo and The Black Sea Gentlemen for two shows on May 6 and 7 presented by Triple R will be their first Melbourne shows in 2 years.
They will be launching their new album After The Flood, (the first in 7 years).
Lurid tales about the Snowy Mountain Scheme workers, who came from all over Europe to help build the dams and power generators.
Tickets for Friday or Saturday available now.
To win a double pass tell us the name of 3 Black Sea Gentlemen albums.
The music world is certainly taking a hammering with the loss of so many icons this year. Prince is my favourite ever performer in a stadium and I've had the pleasure of seeing him every time he has come to Australia (except for the last tour) and witnessed two of his club shows as well. I was overwhelmed to hear of his death and it bought back the great shows I've seen.
His Diamonds and Pearls tour opened with him playing guitar on top of a piano. Mind blowing.

The incredible Michael Jordan on Drums.

CHRIS STOCKLEY
Sunday 15th May 2:00pm
Way Out West
Roots Music Club
Williamstown RSL
128 Ferguson Street
Williamstown VIC 3016 Australia
A chance meeting between Chris Stockley and James Black (of Rockwiz Orkestra and Black Sorrows fame) at a gig in Elwood, Victoria in 2013 led to the creation of Chris' debut solo album "Pale New Sun".
With 40 years in the music business Chris Stockley is well known to Australian music fans as a founding member of Campact, Axiom, The Dingoes and Stockley See and Mason. Until now, Chris had been content to write songs and play guitar for great vocalists like Broderick Smith, Brian Cadd, Glenn Shorrock and Jimmy Barnes. Chris' reluctance to deal with the frustrations of starting his own band sparked a much better idea; to record his own album.
"My album 'Pale New Sun' is a collection of brand new songs and songs from the past that had either never been recorded, or I had a strong desire to re-work and re-record."

by Rob GreavesFrom time to time the Toorak Times are given Cd's to review and we gladly do that to assist Australian artists in a world that is rapidly being presented with massive amounts of overseas musical pap!
Recently we came into possession of a Cd, that consists of six tracks that will make up a Cd yet to be completed, and yet to have a release date set. Further, we have not even been able to determine the name of the group, although the working title of the album is "Pale New Sun".
In a message from Chris today, he has indicated the album is only days away from being finished. We hope to bring more news very shortly!
Why is it important to write about it?
