    Dear Space Riders,
    We’re settling into 2015 with some big weekends of shows for you all. Be sure to check out some of the gigs this weekend – on Friday night, one of Australia’s favourites, Daryl Braithwaite, is taking the stage. On Saturday night, come along for “The Amy Winehouse Show” performed by Atlanta Coogan & the Little Big Band because it’s one of the greatest tribute shows you’ll ever see, then wind down on Sunday afternoon withCanyon – West Coast Sound.

    Fri 16 Jan 8pm: DARYL BRAITHWAITE + The Pardoners – There’s never a dull moment when Daryl and his band take to the stage. In a distinguished career spanning over 30 years, Daryl Braithwaite is one of Australia’s award-winning premier performers and we’re so pleased to have him back at the Saucer for the first time in 2015. Opening the show will be the fabulous Pardoners featuring Sam See & Glyn Mason, so get those tickets fast. ONLY LIMITED TICKETS REMAIN!

    Sat 17 Jan 8pm: “THE AMY WINEHOUSE SHOW”performed by ATLANTA COOGAN & THE LITTLE BIG BAND + Matt Dwyer – Their last show was a sellout, so by popular demand, Atlanta Coogan (ex Black Sorrows) and her fabulous band led by Steve Hadley, will once again recreate the stunning and soulful voice and music of the late Amy Winehouse.     Sun 18 Jan 3pm: CANYON - WEST COAST SOUND – Signature four-part harmonies, classic songs about deserts, forests, raging water, open highways and broken hearts. Introducing Canyon. An acoustic driven, harmony-singing group performing the songs of The Eagles, America, Linda Ronstadt, The Band, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers, Joni Mitchell, Crosby Stills Nash & Young and more. The acoustic band features Peter Chapman and Louise Dempsey, Robert James Kirk (RJK & The Sisters of Sin) and Bruce Packard (Cool Grass, Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra) – blending harmony and beautiful instruments including guitars, mandolin and bass. Two fabulous sets of some of the greatest songs ever written…unmissable!

    Fri 23 Jan 8pm: JON STEVENS + Gallie – ARIA chart-topping successful front man of legendary Australian bands Noiseworks and INXS, Jon Stevens, will showcase his musical journey throughout his 30 year music career stopping at the Flying Saucer Club for the first time in 2015. SELLING FAST!

    Sat 24 Jan 8pm: JIMI HOCKING & GEOFF ACHISON - GUITAR SHOWDOWN! – Guitar slingers Jimi Hocking & Geoff Achison return to the Flying Saucer Club with a special Guitar Showdown for the Australia Day weekend. Standing toe to toe and facing off with hot licks and burning riffs, Jimi & Geoff will salute Australia Day by injecting some Aussie guitar classics into the set as well as the rockin’ rhythm & blues they’re both known for. Backed up by Geoff’s superb Souldiggers band, this show promises to be an electrifying night of music.

    Sun 25 Jan 8pm: THE BLACK SORROWS – Popular demand is what keeps Joe Camilleri and his Black Sorrows back to the Saucer time and time again. On Australia Day Eve witness two big sets of passion and joy for music that has seen this great man still touring after 50 years in the industry. Joining Joe on stage will be John McAll (keys), Claude Carranza (guitar), Mark Gray (bass) and Angus Burchall (drums). Don’t miss the chance to see the Black Sorrows performing their more recent tracks, as well as a good dollop of old classics.

    Sat 15 Mar 8pm: CAIRO CLUB ORCHESTRA with NICHAUD FITZGIBBON – For a 1920s affair you’re sure to remember, join the Flying Saucer Club for a dance party in celebration of the Cairo Club Orchestra’s 30th anniversary. The band will be playing from original vintage scores, with ad lib solos and antique microphones and instruments to add to the authenticity of the sound. Polish those dancing shoes; this show featuring the fabulous vocal talent of Nichaud Fitzgibbon is sure to impress all music lovers.
    Fri 24 Mar 8pm: SONS OF SUN – THE SAM PHILLIPS STORY – The Sam Phillips Story is a wild rock and roll play about Sun Records, Memphis, and the artists that started their careers there. After a rapturous response to the show in 2014, Sons of Sun returns to the Flying Saucer Club. Told through the character of its founder Sam Phillips, his assistant Marion Keisker, and the famous musicians that Sam recorded, this Australian show features a three-piece live band fronted by John Kennedy, performing excerpts of 35 songs from Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and many more. This is a show worth its weight in entertainment, so get in quick and reserve your tickets today!

    Sun 1 Feb 3pm: CHARM OF FINCHES - Charm of Finches is Mabel and Ivy, a sister folk duo based in Melbourne. Aged 12 and 14, they sing sweet harmonies and soulful lyrics.

    Sun 8 Feb 3pm: VOIX D’OR – Two friends, musicians from different backgrounds, wondered what would happen if they got together once a week and wrote songs. The result was Voix D’Or, pronounced “vwa door” and meaning “golden voice” from the poem ‘The Orphan’s New Year Gifts’ by Arthur Rimbaud.
    Sun 15 Feb 3pm: ALLSON TUREK – Allison Turek is a singer-songwriter covering the pop/indie/contemporary/folk scene and features on Triple J Unearthed.
    Sun 22 Feb 3pm: HARRY BROWN – Harry Brown is an independent folk/acoustic singer-songwriter based in Melbourne.
