Good Riddance
I ask all those who have stuck up for this pair of scum bags how they would feel if it was their son or daughter who died from an overdose from the garbage these mongrels were peddling.
This was not their first venture according to authorities.
Also take into consideration the other people's lives they put at risk when organising this venture that they intended to make themselves rich.
If this weak government we have in this country legalised drugs in this country this sort of thing would not take place. Then we could help people who fall prey to addiction instead of them hiding behind closed doors. Not only that the police would have more time to investigate real crimes instead of harassing people for minor things like using drugs. And to all those who have any sympathy for these 2 lowlifes all I can say is think again about who their actions affect just so they can make big money and live a life of luxury. We expect visitors to Australia to ob... -

What Do We Really Want and Have We Cut Off Our Nose to Spite Our Face
Years ago we adopted the union way to get better wages and conditions in our work place. Now we buy Chinese or other imported goods because our locally manufactured goods are too expensive. Where are the industries that used to manufacture in Australia? China Korea Taiwan India and many other places.

There is a possibility there is no “God” and the Sydney incident this week has put more doubts on it.
Following the terrible tragedy in Sydney this last week we are bombarded on TV with all these so called experts talking about what happened and what needs to be done to prevent it happening again. All the talk in the world will not prevent it happening again. If any of these Gods that people pray to were real then he or she would not let these things happen and they will not stop as there will always be some individual out there with not much between their ears. The person that carried out this disgusting act was from all reports a “lone wolf” who was not a member of any group or particular culture. He was obviously mentally ill and had a lot of personal issues with his own life. Who knows what was going on in this person’s feeble mind? There is no way we can prevent these things occurring when it comes to these “lone wolf” type people carrying out these senseless acts. In the same way we could not have prevented Hoddle St, Port Arthur, Queen St, Cairns and all the other senseless an...

Be Socially Aware
The Toorak Times is a publication aimed at the “Socially Aware” so here is your chance to make your contribution by voicing your thoughts and opinions. Hi my name is Bryan Taylor and I have written several articles for the Toorak Times on previous occasions but dropped off for a while from being time poor. I have decided to make time and air my opinions and thoughts on mainly current issues and other controversial and thought provoking subjects as there is a large numbers of issues that deserve a public airing and an input of people’s thoughts and opinions. You might agree with some of the things I say and disagree with others. What we want is your thoughts and reactions, because I only express what I believe in and there is always the chance that my thoughts are not right and if you agree or disagree we want to know, as if you disagree with me you might just be right and I might learn from you, because even though I am very opinionated I am also not ignorant and always welcome a...

For How Long Must Mick Gatto Pay?
Mick Gatto is having his boxing promoter’s licence taken off him for his past.
See http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/law...-1226710094573 I find this disgusting as how long must one pay for their past? I have met Mick Gatto on a couple of occasions and have found him to be a friendly type of person and he has not been convicted of a crime for quite some time. So how long must someone pay for their mistakes? Business people who rip others off and then declare bankruptcy only have to wait a couple of years then are given a clean slate to start again. Politicians make mistakes and make wrong decisions all the time, and some of their decisions cost people their lives eg, pink batts and wars. What happens to them? At worst they are sent to the naughty corner for a while then given a fat pension for life or in the case of sending people to war, to potentially g... -

Medicinal Marijuana Is The Way To Go
The only problem as I see it is smoking it, but there are many other ways of consuming it to receive the benefits.
See http://www.news.com.au/technology/bi...-1226702174681 For centuries other countries and cultures exploited the medicinal properties of cannabis for a wide range of remedies for things like arthritis and joint pain. Cannabis is known for its multipurpose nature. In times gone by it has had numerous uses including relief from anxiety, relieving pain from broken bones, treating burns, lowering fevers, helping people sleep, relieving dysentery and the list goes on. It is about time our thick headed politicians woke up and legalised its use and stop pandering to the almighty drug peddling companies that control what is happening today. It would be a cheaper and more effective way of treating a lot of ailments we have today especially for older people who are being ripped of... -

Life and Crimes Part 2
Why Jack Pacholli left Sydney
Jack Pacholli was a very interesting character and in the late 50’s and early 60’s ran with a crew in Sydney containing the likes of Charles “Chicka” Reeves, who would eventually be shot in an underworld dispute, and “Barney” Ryan, a very big man as I remember, and a gentleman as far as the way he treated me and other people around him. Barney’s reputation was quite different. People outside of his own circle were terrified of him as he was known to be quite violent when the need arose. Chicka also had a reputation as someone not to be crossed and could also be very violent and while not a big man was not short of resorting to using a weapon to make up for his lack in size. On Saturday nights there was a dance held at the Waterloo Town Hall that was a must attend for certain people involved in the Sydney underworld and on one night in March 1965 a young up and coming thug and want to be gangster, Ronald “Ronnie” Feeney, was in attendance. Also in ... -

Stop Being Australian Before It Is Made Illegal
I was absolutely dumbfounded when reading the newspaper today. The Government is apparently telling us to stop being, talking or acting like an Australian.
See http://www.news.com.au/national-news...-1226694726246
This is ridiculous. What will be next? Will we be asked to stop talking completely or just lock ourselves in our houses and don’t come out.... -

It’s Been Going On For Over 200 years.
It’s Been Going On For Over 200 years.
It started in 1770, so what’s new about people coming here on boats without a visa.
At least the people coming now aren’t taking our land of us without permission and trying to kill us off.
Surely there is a better way of dealing with this situation than what we have now.
Personally I don’t have a huge problem with some of the boat people, after all what would you do if you were in their situation?
If I remember rightly we had Vietnamese people coming here some years ago and we seemed to handle the situation, so what is the problem now? I am not saying they all should be allowed to stay, but we should be doing something better than what we are doing now. We have a huge country with not a lot going on over vast areas and where no people live. Surely we can vet these people quickly and show some humanity to the ones that are genuine asylum seekers and develop this country further to accom... -
