It's that time in December, when we're all taking stock (or stockings) of another hectic year gone by and I'd love to share with you all what I've been up to this past year...

In Jan and Feb I played my first ever national tour around Australia, promoting 'An Atheist Album.' I played shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Launceston, Hobart, Ballarat, Lismore and Brisbane. I got to play with some fantastic local musicians and got some great support from local media, print and radio. It was a lot of fun. Some highlights: For one leg of the tour I had my mates come along as roadies which was great. Another was driving through the floods for my Lismore show (floods that stranded my support act the night of the gig). Hilariously (though not at the time) during one phone interview with radio program Megaherzzz on 4ZZZ, the fire alarm in our house went off! Tal Cohen, regarded as one of the most exciting young jazz pianists around, is a fine talent who brings to the stage a refreshing approach to jazz piano, not just as a pianist but also as a refined composer.
Having recently returned from a successful national tour with the Jamie Oehlers Quartet - which featured world renowned drummer Ari Hoenig - Tal has spent the last 18 months writing material for his long anticipated album “Yellow Sticker”.
The album is comprised of a selection of jazz standards arrangements along with Tal’s quintessential compositions.
The record also features acclaimed Perth musicians Jamie Oehlers on tenor saxophone, Chris Tarr on drums and Pete Jeavons on bass.
