    The long awaited EP Launch of Nicolette Forte is set to shake the Latin Room at Topolino's Restaurant for a special one-night-only event on Wednesday the 25th July.

    Rhett May – musician with heart and soul.



    The extraordinary Mr Rhett May.


    Rhett May owes his rare musical sound and style to the unique environment that he grew up in.
    Born in 1950, in Calcutta, India, and living in an orphanage at age 7, he was immediately immersed in a magical, musical melting pot. Carnatic and Hindustani music and instruments such as the Sitar and Tabla were always providing melody and percussion against a daily backdrop of lifting and soaring voices of Ragas. Ragas especially played a vital part of Rhett’s musical experience with their series of five or more musical notes forming melody. However, this environment of classical Indian music wasn’t the only sounds floating about Calcutta in the 50s and 60s and by the time he begun boarding school in the Himalayan foothills, western music had begun its invasion. May’s commercially successful band, The Flint Stones, was one of India’s most successful pop group back in the day and attracted the attention of George Harrison and Apple Record...

    Colin Cook Benefit Gig


    Colin Cook is one of Australia’s best-known performers, with hits on the charts in the 1960s. The singer-saxophonist had been in The Sapphires and The Thunderbirds before going solo.

    He was on the Melbourne charts seven times 1963-66, notably with It’s Up To You, Heart, Blue Ribbon Baby and Well, Don’t You Know.

    He recorded with The Strangers, including on the LP Colin Cook and the Strangers (1964). His last single on the Melbourne charts was Pocketful Of Rainbows on Clarion in 1967.

    Last weekend, we had a fantastic turn-out for both Mental As Anything and Reece Mastin, so much so, that on the Sunday show, we had people lining up from 7am! … now that’s dedication! It is a wonderful thing to see so many music lovers support live music.

    We are just about to head into another weekend of fabulous Music as tonight THE PEARLY SHELLS SUMMER BALL take over the MEMO with their superb Big Band flare and a line-up of special guests including the remarkable YVETTE JOHANNSON and the smooth sounds of THE HUMMINGBIRDS. Jazz lovers and dance enthusiasts unite as this how will be a night of pure delight….Also, we are opening the upstairs balcony with extra seats for those who have General Admission tickets and are wanting a spectacular view.
